Under current protocols, all quick service locations require you to use mobile order on the My Disney Experience app rather than ordering inside the restaurant in person. The Cast Member working the door is instructed to not allow anyone inside until their order shows ready for pickup and they can verify it on their iPad.
For guests who have food allergy concerns or other dietary issues, this can feel unnerving as they are used to ordering in person with a Cast Member while carefully looking over the hard copy of the allergy friendly menu. However, Disney has made viewing allergy friendly meals via the app pretty easy–if you know where to look!
Initially pulling up the menu for a quick service location doesn\’t show the allergy friendly option! So, you have to click on See All Categories.
Clicking on See All Categories opens up three more options: Beverages, Beverages with Alcohol, and Allergy Friendly.
My example is from PizzaRizzo in Hollywood Studios. I clicked on Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly from this menu to find pizza options for a sweet boy who is highly allergic to wheat.
Now this pulls up every gluten/wheat allergy-friendly option available at PizzaRizzo.
If you have multiple allergies or don\’t see your specific concern, at the very bottom of the page it does give you alternate options. You can approach the Cast Member working the entrance to the restaurant, explain that you have more specific dietary needs, and they should send you inside to order with someone there.
One thing to note is that some guests have expressed the inability to order allergy-friendly quick service meals via the app forcing them to go inside to order; however, they found it difficult to convince the Cast Member at the door to allow them inside to order leaving them a bit frustrated. Once they were able to order, the allergy friendly meal took 20-25 minutes to prepare meaning the family was done eating before the allergy friendly meal was ready.
Even during these unusual times, Disney continues to provide exemplary dining service to all guests including those who have dietary concerns and/or allergy concerns allowing everyone to enjoy their experience at Disney World!
