Princesses often take center stage when thinking about visiting Walt Disney World, but move over Elsa…there are tons of rides, attractions, dining and resorts that will thrill the boys, old and young, in your family!
Dining
Interested in meeting some folks who don\’t wear dresses? Character dining is available all over the Walt Disney World, and many options include characters your boys will love.
Check out Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios where you will meet Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Handy Manny. Many locations also have classic Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale.
Canadian lumberjacks
Shows
Boys love action packed adventure and you are sure to find it at the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and Lights! Motors! Action! at Disney\’s Hollywood Studios. In Magic Kingdom, there is Captain Jack Sparrow\’s Pirate Tutorial.
Don\’t forget the Chinese Acrobats, Japanese drummers, and the Canadian Lumberjack show at Epcot and the Lion King at Disney\’s Animal Kingdom!
Star Wars \”Stuff\”
Use the force and ride Star Tours where your adventure is never the same twice or participate in the Jedi Training Academy where your little ones (4-12) can train in the way of the Jedi and hopefully defeat Darth Vader himself on stage but sign up early…space is limited! Star Wars Weekends held in May and June are the ultimate Star Wars experience!
Attractions
Have your boys (and girls:-)) jump right into the action and participate in a Pirate\’s Adventure or Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom…both of these interactive treasure hunts traveling through the Magic Kingdom are sure to thrill!
In Animal Kingdom, try your hand at Wilderness Explorers, or in Epcot, test out Agent P\’s World Showcase Adventure where you get to help Perry the platypus (from Phineas and Ferb).
Pirate\’s League
\”Yo ho, Yo ho, it\’s a pirate\’s life for him!\” While your princess is at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, be sure to let your boys transform into a swashbuckler from ye days of olde in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. But ye better be warned…who knows what trouble they\’ll get into after they transform (Arrrghh)! Sign up early though; reservations are highly recommended and additional fees apply.
Resorts
Pirate room at Caribbean Beach Resort
Finally, the adventure doesn\’t have to stop when you leave the parks! Spend your evening sleeping in a pirate ship in a themed room at Disney\’s Caribbean Beach Resort; check out larger than life sports at the All Star Sports Resort; stay in a Cars themed suite and hang out by the Cozy Cone pool at the Art of Animation Resort; or watch animals graze on the savannah at the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort.
For the ultimate in a Disney adventure with boys, try out a pirate cruise, make a visit to the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, and visit a waterpark with fast slides!
