Ready to Book Your First Disney World Trip? Here\'s a Few Tips!

After much thought and preparation (both mentally and financially), you\’re ready to book your first Disney World vacation! You contact your favorite Disney travel planner at Wishdrawals Travel (why would you go anywhere else?), and you tell them you\’re ready to go!

But wait…your Disney travel planner needs more information from you! She\’s going to ask you a bunch of questions to get you the best, most accurate quote possible.

Of course we need your traveling party make-up. Do you have kids? If so, how old are they? Do you have teenagers? Will they sleep together or do we need multiple sleeping surfaces? Are grandparents or other extended family coming, too? We usually make different resort recommendations based on your family and traveling party.

How many days do you want to spend in the parks? One day per park is always a good idea, and I like to suggest one down day as well. Maybe a day at a waterpark or a day to explore Disney Springs.

What kind of tickets do you want? Base tickets?  Park hopper tickets? Park hoppers with water parks?

What type of resort do you want? Do you want high-end accommodations or just somewhere to sleep is fine? There are four categories of resorts and many options within each category!

Then we have to think about dining plans, other activities like Bibbidi Bobbidy Boutique and Pirates League, special event tickets like Mickey\’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and more!

This is a lot, right? Never fear! We\’re going to take each section more in depth over the next few weeks. Each week we\’ll focus on some aspect of the trip so you can make an informed decision about tickets, resort, dining and more!

A few things to keep in mind:

  1. Plan early: 7 months out is perfect so we have time to choose your dining options

  2. Consider all your options with resorts: What was best for your friend/neighbor/brother may not be best for your family!

  3. Work with your Wishdrawals agent to plan a successful itinerary for your family. Be honest–if you\’re REALLY not early morning people, let them know!

  4. Be flexible! Sometimes your ideal dining time isn\’t available, or your chosen resort now has construction and refurbishments for your dates!

Stay tuned for more information over the next few weeks!
